Message from the Stake Relief Society

As a Stake Relief Society Presidency, we feel our sisters have a wonderful opportunity to change

lives (including our own) as we make our homes places where the gospel is taught, where we

exhibit charity by showing real concern and love for each other, and in some cases stretch

ourselves as we embrace family history and missionary work.

President Roberts recalled an event in Church History when the persecution was the greatest.

Instead of rallying all the leaders together to have a retreat or “atta boy” session like the world

would do, the prophet sent his leaders to England to spread the gospel where the results were

astounding.  The Lord blesses His people when they do His work.  With this thought in mind,

President Roberts asked that I pass on his recommendations:

1. Our sisters should learn how to index and become more involved in genealogy.

2. We need to emphasize the importance of missionary work . . . i.e. reaching out to family

and neighbors who have maybe become less active, and let them know how important

they are to us.

Let’s each become more involved in the Lord’s work.

Laketown has a new Relief Society Presidency.
 We welcome Jane Floyd as president;
 Kathy Johnson 1st C
 Vickie Weston 2nd C
and Dianne Spotten will continue as secretary.
